“When visiting these places, there is often a sense of being time-limited – a weekend getaway, a short bush walk, or needing to take children home. I am interested in capturing these ‘quick escapes’ on the canvas for longer-term enjoyment and reflection.

While there is beauty in the vastness of Australian landscapes, my current body of work is intentionally focussed and smaller in size. I want to create something that is somewhat understated, that draws you in further. Paintings that complement the smaller spaces – an image you can step into without getting lost in a big, wide landscape.”

Tara was a finalist at the Cornerstore Gallery MINI-SERIES ART PRIZE (2025) and has exhibited at the SOLSTICE Exhibition at Aspire Gallery (2025) and OFF THE WALL at Peisley Street Gallery (2024-25). She holds a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from QUT and a Graphic Design qualification from Shillington College.
